Natalie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned a Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Natalie has experience working with children, adolescents and adults from a variety of backgrounds.

Natalie seeks to help individuals on their journey towards wholeness and healing. She believes this can best be done within the context of a supportive and empathetic relationship where the individual feels deeply validated and heard. She is passionate about helping individuals find their voice and heal places of pain that have been holding them back.

Natalie does this through using of a relational model that incorporates elements of cognitive, behavioral and ego state therapy to bring about healing and change. Natalie has pursued specialized training in the treatment of trauma and PTSD. She uses EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) as an effective tool in treating traumatic experiences that have kept individuals “stuck” and from moving forward. She believes in co-creating a space with the client that is nurturing, safe and where the truth can be spoken.

Areas of Practice

RELATIONSHIPS

All relationships go through seasons of change and challenge. From broken marriages to struggling friendships, family issues, and challenges with coworkers — relational stress can be all-consuming and have negative effects on emotions and health. We help provide clients with skills and insights to navigate through struggling relationships.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing(EMDR) is a well researched protocol based psychotherapy for the treatment of trauma. When a traumatic event happens in someones life it becomes “frozen” in time carrying all the pain, grief and horror as the day the traumatic event occurred. This can show up as flashbacks or just being “stuck” in one area of life. EMDR helps alleviate this pain and move the memory to a place in the brain where it can become “unfrozen” and properly processed.

trauma/PTSD

The effects of trauma and abuse/neglect often leave deep wounds that shape our lives and view of ourselves. We are committed to helping empower individuals to find their voice and heal places of pain that have been holding them back from the life they desire.

women’s issues

We have a passion for empowering women to find their voice and live into their full potential. There are so many transitions in a woman’s life. Being away from home for the first time at college. Navigating a serious romantic relationship. Pregnancy and Postpartum concerns. Parenting and boundary setting with children. Trying to balance work and family life. We would love to help you as you navigate these life stages.

depression & anxiety

Most of us struggle with worry and sadness at different points in our lives. We believe in helping people manage these symptoms through coping skills and lifestyle changes. We also believe it is important to look at the roots of what has brought on sad or anxious feelings. In finding the underlying cause we can work together to heal those places of pain and help alleviate depression and anxiety at it’s source.

Chronic Health Problems

The body and mind are so connected. If there is a chronic health problem it can create anxiety, feelings of depression, grief, loss and changes in relationships and lifestyle. We have experience helping individuals navigate the emotional toll of chronic health problems and find purpose and meaning in the “new normal”.
